Throughout that time they’ve continuously developed products with an unrivalled quality and reliability - helping to transform homes across the country. Nowadays they’re part of the PPG Industries portfolio of brands - global leaders in the coating market with the backing of some of the world's finest paint developers and technicians.

Having spent recent years trading on an underpowered platform, limited to selling tester pots, without the right integrations to their app and wider ERP system - Johnstone’s had struggled to make the impact they wanted with their ecommerce offering. Impressed by our recent work on Tikkurila, Johnstone’s approached us to provide them with a more advanced solution, able to showcase their vast range of colours with powerful integrations into their wider business ecosystem.

Leveraging our experience on the Tikkurila project, we set Johnstone’s up with a powerful ecommerce solution based on Magento 2 Open Source. We were able to solve the complex challenges of a huge colour range and integration in their NAV-based ERP, while also integrating with their sophisticated MyColour app to ensure a seamless and personalised user experience throughout.

The UX strategy didn’t stop with a smooth transition between platforms - we put careful time and thought into how customers might best navigate the diverse range of shades and self-help tools available to them. And as with several of our other successful projects, we opted to enhance the off-the-shelf content capabilities of Magento with Prismic CMS, to give Johnstone’s the chance to bring their brand and products to life in a slick and user-friendly way.
