A complicated range, complex integrations, multiple customer types and a brand in need
The brand’s UK distributor (Valtti) first contacted Digital Six in 2019 looking to build an ecommerce site to sell Tikkurila’s products to the UK market. From Valtti’s initial brief it was clear that they wanted a site which could deliver on the brand’s core values of sustainability, quality, support and service.
So from day one it’s been our mission to deliver a next-level experience to a range of customer types while bringing the Tikkurila brand to life. Of course, tasks of this magnitude are rarely that simple, and the Tikkurilla site has been incredibly complex from the outset, with a vast array of different shades, finishes and prices - all fed by the distributor’s ERP system.
A fully-integrated Magento 2, Prismic CMS and a raft of bespoke enhancements
With a huge amount of processing required to display the right product at the right time to the right customer at the right price, we leveraged the power of Magento 2 for the website’s core ecommerce functionality. Integrating it seamlessly with Valtti’s Dynamics-based ERP system. While Magento 2 is an incredibly powerful ecommerce platform, we combined it with Prismic CMS to take Tikkurila’s creative experience-building capabilities to the next level.
The result is a site which beautifully translates complex technical paint and pricing information into meaningful swatches and a personalised pricing experience, with stylish technical design flourishes. A unique colour directory allows customers to see the full range of shades on offer, while the buying experience is streamlined and enhanced through bespoke features like the paint selector, colour-first journey, streamlined navigation and improved checkout flow.
Customers can shop a huge range of complex products with confidence - no matter who they are - and the team at Valtti have even more power to bring the Tikkurila brand to life.
